Bruce Atkinson Brings Experience & Expertise To Finance Function

Blueprint Investment Partners, an asset manager and pioneer in the creation of systematic, process-driven, and transparent investment strategies for financial advisors, has added additional experience and expertise to the firm’s finance function by hiring Bruce Atkinson, CPA, to take over the role of Chief Financial Officer from the founding partners. Atkinson brings more than 25 years of experience helping small- and mid-sized business increase their value, as well as define and achieve their vision of operational and financial success.

As Chief Financial Officer, Atkinson is responsible for collaborating with the firm’s partners and Leadership Team to develop and execute the financial strategies of the firm, which include:
- Recommending how to invest the firm’s profits to add resources for partnering advisors
- Analyzing opportunities to optimize spending, seeking to keep costs low for advisors and their clients
- Seeking financial efficiencies that can further enhance the firm’s stability and allow for acting on strategic opportunities
“My favorite part of applying my experience in the context of Blueprint is seeing firsthand how our firm’s success benefits the financial advisors we serve, and ultimately the advisors’ clients,” Atkinson says. “That’s not something you see so clearly in every business.”
Atkinson earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from Virginia Tech. He earned his CPA license shortly after. His career began in public accounting firms, including what was the largest CPA firm in the world at the time. He has held Chief Financial Officer and Controller roles at several North Carolina-based companies, including Macro Integration Services, Piedmont Hoist and Crane and American Sun Systems.
